The Marangu Route nickname “Coca-Cola route. The Marangu route is one of the most popular routes and most of hikers believe that the Marangu route is the easiest route to Uhuru peak, because it is route which can be hiked in 5 days. (Cheapest option). It is also the only route offering accommodation on the mountain in huts. Hike on the Marangu route is comparatively cheap. You don’t need camping equipment and not cost for extra porters to carry the equipment.
It is unfortunately well known that you cannot make the 5 days Marangu route to the summit. Five days climb doesn’t allow for hikers to acclimation, we strongly recommended to hiking the route over 6 days, to have chance to reach to the summit




You will be pick up from Moshi and transfer to Kilimanjaro National Park gate, take 50 minutes. During the drive you will pass through Marangu Village upon arrival a you will all hikers will have to sign in the park office and get essential formalities before starting our hiking. In the meanwhile, porters will preparing and packs properly the equipment that will be using during hiking. Make sure you have all your daypack items, like water, your lunch back and extra clothing. But our guide will be there to assist you for more information.
Now you will be leaving the Park gate then the hiking trail begins by ascending a beautiful, tropical rain forest, during the forest hike we have chance to see blue monkeys. You will end day one on beautiful hillsides at Mandara Hut.

We will be starting hiking through the beautiful forest until we reach moorland.Our first view of Kibo and Mawezi peaks. Two of the three volcanic peaks, those peaks make the summit of Kilimanjaro

Today will be for acclimatization and hiking day on Mawenzi Ridge. The landscape will give you chance to see views of Kibo and Mawenzi. After exploring the zone you will go back to Horombo hut.
Horombo Hut to Mawezi Ridge

Mawenzi Ridge to Horombo Hut

We climb gradually, then cross the lunar desert of the “Saddle” between Mawenzi and Kibo. Our camp, Kibo Hut, sits at the bottom of the Kibo crater wall. Once here we rest, enjoy an early dinner to prepare for the summit day.
Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak

Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut
Elevation: 19,341 ft to 12,250 ft
Hiking Time: 4-5 hours

Very early in the morning (around midnight), we begin our push to the summit. This is the most mentally and physically challenging portion of the trek. The wind and cold at this elevation and time of day can be extreme. We ascend in the darkness for several hours while taking frequent, but short, breaks. At Gilman’s point (18,600 ft), you will be rewarded with the most magnificent sunrise you are ever likely to see coming over Mawenzi Peak. Finally, we arrive at Uhuru Peak- the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the continent of Africa.
After spending a few moments taking in the plains of Africa and your accomplishment, we descend to Horombo Hut. Later in the evening, we enjoy our last dinner on the mountain and a well-earned sleep.

Habitat: Rain Forest
On our last day, we continue the descent to Mweka Gate and collect the summit certificates. At lower elevations, it can be wet and muddy. From the gate, we continue another hour to Mweka Village. A vehicle will meet us at Mweka Village to drive us back to the hotel in Moshi.
