Day Trip to Mbudya is a beautiful island on the Indian Ocean (Dar es Salaam), it is Marine Reserve. If you want to be away for all hustle and bustle of downtown Dar es Salaam. Mbudya is the right place.

There is a small restaurant that provide soft drink, local beer, and seafood. It is the most popular excursion in Dar es Salaam. The boat to Mbudya start from White Sand Hotel north of Dar es Salaam. Boat take aprox 20 min to reach the Island. You get sharing boat or private boat.

Shopping tour in Dar es Salaam

The region of Dar es Salaam is also a good place to get souvenirs for your friends and family while you are in holiday or business travel. There are plenty of diverse to shop in Dar es Salaam. The Slipway Shopping Center and leisure is popular area for tourist and Tanzania resident. It is located on the Msasani Peninsula and it is beach front area through the Indian Ocean. The area offers different an excellent mix of activities for local and tourist.

You can shop souvenir, there are curio shop, barbershop, and massage clinic service. There is different restaurant like Waterfront, Thai restaurant etc… Also, there is playground for kids with different game to play.

The Slipway is also a stop of nightlife in Dar es Salaam, some of days there is live band music. Near Slipway you can drive to Tinga Tinga Arts. What is Tingatinga? It is a painting style that was drawn / created in 20th century in the Oyster Bay area in Dar es Salaam by a Tanzanian painter named Edward Said Tingatinga, The Tinga Tinga painting is most widely known worldwide. The painting of Tingatinga is traditionally painting is made on a fabric painting with different colour and different object in paint that make the painting marvellous.

Mnazi Mmoja Park

  • The meaning of Mnazimmoja is one palm tree indicating one Tanzania united.

  • The flag has no red color because there was no bloodshed during the independence. Tanzania was only the country in East Africa without any bloodshed during the gaining of independence.

University Of Dar Es Salaam

  • Formed in 1961, with only 14 students registered in the faculty of law now there are more than 10,000 getting their diplomas and degrees, with students coming all over the world.
  • Became an affiliate of the university of East Africa in 1963

Mwenge Carvings Market

  • The center where one can find ebony carvings as well as wide range of other Tanzanian carvings.
  • One can also see people carving out the actual wood to make a master piece ,This place was established in 1984
  • The wood used is called ebony but sometimes they also used mahoghony

Tinga Tinga Arts

  • This painting style developed in the second half of the 20thCentury, In the oyster bay area of Dar es salaam, and later spread through East Africa.Tinga Tinga is the most widely spread painting for tourists.
  • These painting are traditionally made on Masonite using several layers of bicycle paint, which enhances the bright colors.
  • Sometimes referred as the crazy art, due to the very bright colors and distorted figures of reality.
  • You will see various paintings being painted and you will have a chance to purchase these paintings.

National Musseum

  • Was established in 1940 in memory of king George the fifth of England.
  • The museum offers Permanent history of Tanzania, Including the first human being found.
  • Rock and Art Painting

Askari Monument

  • Erected in 1927 to honor the African soldier who fought in the First world war.

The Fish Market

  • The main fish market in Dar essalaam. A variety of fish in every shape and size is sold on retail and wholesale basis.Fish species Include finfish, crustaceans, changu, pweza,and cephalopods. The market receives fish from other local fishing towns such as mwanza and bagamoyo and internationally from places like Yemen and Oman.

Ocean Road Hospital

  • This hospital is special for cancer diseases built 1897, very admirable today as it has undergone a total rehabilitation.

St Joseph Cathedral Church

  • Built in 1902, the main Roman Catholic Church in Dar es salaams.
